Master Chris Correia

Master Chris Correia is the owner and head instructor of North Shore Taekwondo & Cloquet Taekwondo. Master Correia is a Kukkiwon certified Fifth Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, a 3rd Dan Black Belt in Hapkido, and a 2nd Dan in Kumdo.

Master Correia is one of  the original students of 6th Dan Master Bruce Sodahl, the founder of North Shore Taekwondo and Cloquet Taekwondo. Master Correia began his Taekwondo training under Master Sodahl in 1993. Today, Master Correia operates and oversees the very same academy at which he started his training more than 17 years ago.

Master Correia continues to regularly train and participate within the Greenquist Academy Taekwondo Association, under 7th Dan Grand Master Eric Greenquist, and within the International Black Belt Federation (IBBF), founded by 10th Dan Great Grand Master Moo Yong Yun.

Master Correia has participated in the IBBF's annual Black Belt camp since it first began in 1996. The camp has been overseen by 10th Dan Great Grand Master Yong Yun and typically hosts nearly two dozen Grand Master and Master Instructors, as well as an average of 150 additional black belt participants. Guest instructors have included top masters and grand masters from Korea. These experience provide Master Corriea and other black belts an exceptional continuing education in all aspects of martial arts training.

Additionally, Master Correia was a member of two Greenquist Association black belt teams which visited South Korea in 2003 and 2009 for specialized training and certification under the direction of 10th Dan Great Grand Master Moo Yong Yun.

Master Correia's own two children, Mr. Robb Correia and Miss Tricia Correia, both 2nd Degree Black Belts, continue to participate in his schools as Black Belt instructors, showing that the family that kicks together, sticks together!

Master Eric Hylden


Master Eric Hylden is a 4th Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo, a 2nd Dan Black Belt in Hapkido, and a 2nd Dan Black Belt in Kumdo, the art of the sword. Master Eric has been an instructor at North Shore Taekwondo since 2000.

Master Eric grew up in Minneapolis, MN and came to Duluth to attend the University of Minnesota-Duluth.  He graduated from UMD in 1984 with degrees in Teaching and Communications.  He then attended the University of Minnesota School of Law, graduating Cum Laude in 1987.  He is a District Court Judge in Duluth, MN.

In 2004 and 2009, Master Eric was a part of black belt teams from the Greenquist Academy Taekwondo Association which visited Korea for special training and certification with 7th Dan Grand Master Eric Greenquist and 10th Dan Great Grand Master Moo Yong Yun.

His teenaged daughter Hannah is also an active Black Belt assistant instructor at North Shore Taekwondo.

Mr. Robb Correia
 

Mr. Robb Correia is a  2nd Degree Black Belt. He has praticed Taekwondo at North Shore Taekwondo since he was four years old, and now teaches as a Lead Instructor. Mr. Robb is a graduate of the College of St. Scholastica.

 

 

 

 


Miss Kathryn Miller

Miss Katie Miller is a 2nd Dan Black Belt. She has been an assistant instructor at North Shore Taekwondo and Cloquet Taekwondo since 2008.
